Kampong yoga classes are calming flow practices that link basic yoga postures in a purposeful sequence incorporating traditional sun salutations and balance poses. Vinyasa style classes link movement with breath. This class is perfect for yoga beginners but works equally well for anyone looking for a gentle alternative to a stronger vinyasa flow class. You’ll always be given the option to keep it mellow or to make the practice more challenging with variations, such as crow. Suitable for all levels. Afterwards we will bath in majesty and shade of Miami’s oldest Royal Poinciana planted by David Fairchild himself. Located on Biscayne Bay in Coconut Grove, the Kampong is a nine-acre botanical garden, part of the National Tropical Botanical Gardens, a non-profit dedicated to education and conservation. Named for the Malay or Javanese word for a village or cluster of houses, The Kampong is the former estate of Dr. David Fairchild, the famed botanical explorer who traveled throughout Southeast Asia. Please bring your own yoga mat, water bottle and insect repellent (if needed). Cost:$25 non Kampong members, $18 members.
